“Being too short to play for the dodgers and not liking school enough to be a doctor made music the obvious choice.”

Daniel Kim Ethridge, embodying a unique blend of Long Beach charm and Austin soul, has carved a niche in the music world with songs that resonate deeply with the human experience. His journey began as an aspiring guitarist, driven by the influences of guitar legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Willie Nelson, and evolved into that of a seasoned songwriter, reflecting his profound connection with music and storytelling. While studying at Belmont University in Nashville, Ethridge expanded his artistic horizon, drawing songwriting inspiration from a diverse range of artists, including Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, and The SteelDrivers.

His talent was notably recognized in 2018 when he triumphed in the Texas Songwriter U program. This achievement marked the beginning of a significant phase in his career, where he balanced touring with other artists while nurturing his songwriting abilities. In this time, Ethridge also became a long standing part of the renowned Bluebird Café family, playing on the Nashville hallowed ground upwards of twenty times throughout his career thus far.

Over the years, Ethridge has been an elemental part of multiple musical side projects: alt-rock group Sadie Hawkins (Tristan Bushman, Gatlin, Daniel Kim Ethridge), indie rock/Americana duo Myers Ethridge (Natascha Myers, Daniel Kim Ethridge), and Americana/country trio Troubadour Blue (Brenna Wheeler, Eli Wheeler, Daniel Kim Ethridge), showcasing his ability to cross over between a wide range of genres and create that emotional escape by whatever means and musical stylings necessary.

In 2020’s formation of Troubadour Blue, a trio co-founded with college friends and his mentor Tammy Rogers King of Grammy-award-winning group The SteelDrivers, Ethridge’s musical journey took a new turn. Touring with this trio, Ethridge has touched hearts at renowned venues such as The Ryman Auditorium, turning personal narratives into melodies that resonate with audiences across the country.

The year 2023 marked a pivotal moment in Ethridge's career with a publishing deal from Curb Word Entertainment, a testament to his ability to craft music that not only entertains but connects deeply with the listener. His songs, characterized by life, love, and the myriad experiences in between, are delivered with a warmth and authenticity that is unmistakably Daniel Kim Ethridge.

Ethridge humorously remarks that being "too short to play first base for the Dodgers and not liking school enough to be a doctor" made music his clear path in life, a journey that extends from songwriting to a passionate search for vintage Martin and Gibson guitars.
